Joe Day, CFA
Joe likes to speak about himself in the third person. But, who doesn’t? Joe was born and raised in Washington State. He’s been fortunate to live everywhere from Italy and Ireland to Washington DC and San Francisco and loves to travel, ski and be on the water with his wife and two boys. He has been in the investment advisory business since 2002 (when he first moved to Seattle) and hasn’t looked back. He launched Bear Mountain Capital Inc. in 2009, in the heart of the financial crisis. He realized then that clients deserved more and he knew he could give it to them. He’s been working toward that goal ever since.
Luke Collova, CFP®
Luke grew up in Little Canada. No, not Canada, Little Canada–it’s a little town in Minnesota, but yes, he loves hockey! He also loves his clients and caring for their needs. That’s one of the reasons he left the insurance industry and became an advisor with Bear Mountain Capital. Luke attended the University of Puget Sound, where he earned a degree in business. If you go looking for Luke when he isn’t at work, a good place to start would be in the backcountry of the Cascade Mountains. Whether backpacking with his wife, watching her routinely catch the biggest trout, or standing atop the next remote powder line ready to shred, he enjoys life to the fullest. Back in Seattle, you’ll find him volunteering at local arts organizations, working in his vegetable garden, or making fresh pasta for friends.
Ryan Moriwake, CPA
Ryan was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai’i, Ryan feels fortunate to hail from paradise. You’re probably asking yourself “why would he move to Seattle when he can live in Hawai’i?” Turns out, Ryan loves being in the Pacific Northwest. He currently resides in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, where he enjoys eating at new restaurants and reveling in the energy of the city. An alumnus of Seattle University, he received his undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Finance. With this knowledge, Ryan has a strong desire to help others reach their long-term financial goals. Outside of the office, Ryan enjoys traveling, following his favorite sports teams, and spending time with close family and friends.
Nicole Northcutt
Nicole grew up in San Diego and traded in the sun and beach for the rain and mountains. Surprisingly, she has not regretted this choice and loves being in the Pacific Northwest. She has called Washington her home since 2010. Nicole joined Bear Mountain Capital in 2022 as our new Director of Operations. She has a background in commercial banking, where she has spent the last 20 years in various operational roles. She loves helping clients, building processes and finding efficiencies… her tendency toward perfectionism fits right in with the rest of the team. During her downtime, she enjoys traveling, concerts, binge watching TV with her husband and hiking with her dog.
Peter Kulseth
Also hailing from an island, but with much colder waters than Ryan’s, Peter grew up on San Juan Island, a couple hours drive and ferry ride north of Seattle. He is the newest member of our team, proudly sharing his Alma Mater with Joe as he graduated from Gonzaga University in May 2023 with his Bachelor’s focused in Economics and Law. Peter is excited to use his knowledge and unique insights to help our clients better understand their personal financial needs, helping them navigate the ins and outs of personal finance. In his free time he enjoys golf and playing most other sports, ranging from basketball to disc golf. He is also an avid fan of fly fishing and exploring the outdoors.
