Your Bear Mountain Capital Team
Joe Day, CFA – Principal
Joe has called Seattle home since 2002. A Spokane native, his journey has included living and learning in Italy, Ireland, Washington D.C., and the Bay Area, proof he is as comfortable navigating airports as he is complex financial decisions. In 2009, Joe founded Bear Mountain Capital to offer a more efficient, authentic, and holistic financial planning and portfolio management experience for his clients. His focus is simple: deliver a top-tier wealth management and risk management services while ensuring clients feel real value at every step. Outside the office, Joe enjoys life with his wife and two boys. Together, they travel, ski, surf, hike, attend concerts, and embrace everything the Pacific Northwest (and the world) has to offer, rain or shine.
Luke Collova, CFP® – Principal
Luke grew up in Little Canada. No, not Canada, Little Canada – it’s a town in Minnesota, and yes, he loves hockey! He also loves his clients and loves caring for their needs. He graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a degree in business and became a CFP® professional. If you go looking for Luke when he isn’t at work, a good place to start would be in the backcountry of the Cascade mountains. Whether backpacking with his wife and kids, floating a river with a fly rod in hand, or standing atop the next powder line ready to shred, he enjoys life to the fullest. Back in Seattle, you’ll find him coaching his kid’s sports team, making wine or cooking fresh pizza and pasta for friends.
Ryan Moriwake, CFP®, CPA – Investment Advisor
Ryan was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai’i and feels fortunate to hail from paradise. After a few years in the Pacific Northwest, he says Seattle is just as beautiful as Hawai’i (he wrote this in the summer). An alumnus of Seattle University, he received his undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Finance. Driven by a desire to help others, he strives to provide thoughtful guidance to help our clients make the most of their opportunities while living fulfilling, happy lives. Outside of the office, you can find him traveling, grilling, golfing, catching a good happy hour, or rooting on his favorite sports teams.
Nicole Northcutt – Director of Operations
Nicole traded the sun-soaked beaches of San Diego for the misty mountains of the Pacific Northwest in 2010 and hasn’t looked back since. She joined Bear Mountain Capital in 2022 as Director of Operations, bringing two decades of commercial banking experience and a knack for making complex things run smoother. Nicole thrives on streamlining operations, refining processes, and ensuring clients feel supported every step of the way. Her passion for organization and efficiency (some might call it perfectionism) is a natural fit with the Bear Mountain team. When she’s not optimizing workflows, Nicole can be found traveling, catching a concert, binge-watching a good series with her husband, or hiking Washington’s trails with her ever-enthusiastic dog.
Peter Kulseth – Investment Advisor
Also hailing from an island but with much colder waters than Ryan’s, Peter grew up on San Juan, a couple hours drive and ferry ride north of Seattle. He proudly shares his Alma Mater with Joe as he graduated from Gonzaga University in 2023 with his Bachelor’s focused in Economics and Law. Peter is excited to use his knowledge and unique insights to help our clients understand their personal financial needs and relieve their stress; navigating decision-making and planning for the future. Away from his desk he enjoys playing both kinds of golf (stick and disc) and basketball. He is also an avid fan of exploring the outdoors, by way of fishing and skiing.
Briana Gutiérrez Canales – Investment Advisor
Briana is from Yakima, Washington and moved to Seattle when she attended the University of Washington in 2017. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology and has a background within the industry as a client service and operations specialist. Briana works to help others feel empowered by providing individualized support and guidance. She believes fostering confidence in their plan will help clients reduce financial stress and allow them to enjoy the fruits of their labor. She enjoys running, spending quality time with loved ones, and hiking throughout the Pacific Northwest for its beautiful scenery.
